I chose to study in Prague because it has an excellent location! Being in Central Europe gives tremendous opportunities to travel. The city itself is relatively cheap which has been great, and it is such a beautiful country!
What was the most meaningful interaction you have had with a local?
The most meaningful interaction I have had with a local was with my dorm mother, Zuzana. One day we were locked out of our dorms, so she invited a few of us to her apartment and gave us some incredible life advice. She spoke with us about falling in love with her husband and how she has lived her life just for her. She told us about how everything she has done has been to ensure she is living her most fulfilling and happiest self and it was incredibly inspirational.
Have you had the opportunity to explore your city? Where have you ventured, and why did you select those places?
Prague is one of the most beautiful cities that I’ve had the opportunity to explore. Every day I find something new and am simply astounded by it. So far one of my favorite places in the city is this island park underneath a bridge. You cross to the middle of the bridge and take the stairs down. There you find this small island that’s been cultivated into a beautiful park with a little restaurant.
How has traveling outside the United States for the first time fared? Is it what you expected?
This isn’t my first time out of the United States, but it is my first time completely on my own for such a long period of time. There have definitely been a lot of ups and downs, but I think I am a better person for all of it. I’ve learned a lot about myself and my natural reaction to situations I would not normally find myself in.
